Four strokes to prevent redness of stalks in cotton seedlings

Recently, some farmers have reported that the stems of cotton seedlings are red, and the leaves are small and thin and grow slowly. After unplugging the plants, the main roots of the cotton were undeveloped, with less lateral roots, and some stems had tumors. What is the reason for this? The reasons are summarized as follows:

1. Herbicide damage factors. Two types of plots can cause herbicide harm, and one type is old cotton crops that are used continuously for many years. Due to the long-term use of trifluralin, the use of trifluralin is too large, resulting in thin and weak stems and a large proportion of red stems. The other type is the dumping ground of cotton, the former crop is corn, and the corn field closed herbicides or mixture is used year after year. After many years of continuous use, herbicides are left in the field. When the summer rainfall is large, herbicides in the field flow along with the water to the low-lying areas, showing that the cotton field in the same highland grows robustly, low-lying or low-lying, and the plants are short and small. Weak, red stem cotton phenomenon.

2. Disease factors. Cotton wilt is based on the severity and degree of victimization, among which there are purple-type appearances in the field, and cotyledons and true leaves turn purple or appear purplish red patches, slightly wilting.

3. Soil or salt or alkali. Some plots do not apply organic manure due to unreasonable long-term application of chemical fertilizers, causing soil salinization or secondary salinization. When the amount of rainfall is small, salt is caused to move upwards, and the concentration of salt greatly inhibits the absorption of nutrients by the root system. Salt injury is caused by seedlings, and the growth of plants is slow and small, and the proportion of red stems is high.

Prevention:

1. If the redness of the stems occurs in the old cotton fields where the disease is severe for many years, the crop can be turned down with the grass or leguminous crops in the second year. In other words, such rotation is the best measure, if conditions permit.

2. For the dwarf plants that have already suffered a disease, spray the fungicide in time and combine with high-quality foliar fertilizer. Can also irrigate the roots of the diseased plants better than the spray, every 5-7 days before irrigating the roots.

3. For salinization or secondary salinization of soil, it can be improved by adding organic fertilizer for several years. Once there is a phenomenon of small water “compaction with salt”, salt pressure shall be immediately reduced by using fresh water to cast salt.

4. For plant growth caused by herbicide damage, immediately spray "920" or Shuofeng 481 to add high-quality foliar fertilizer for remission. If the condition is still watered in time, the base fertilizer is insufficient or there is a de-fertilizer symptom, it is necessary to combine irrigating 12-20 kg of urea per acre to promote plant growth.
