Dry pest control

Insect pests feed on the branches and stems of plants, creating holes or tunnels that can severely damage the growth of trunks and main shoots. This kind of infestation not only weakens the plant's structure but can also lead to stunted growth or even death in severe cases. To manage these pests effectively, several control methods can be applied: 1. Carefully remove and destroy larvae found inside the affected areas. This helps prevent further spread. 2. Manually capture adult insects or use black light traps to attract and eliminate them. This is especially effective during their active hours. 3. Apply insecticides such as 80% dichlorvos diluted at a ratio of 500 times or 40% omethoate diluted between 20 to 50 times. The solution can be injected directly into the pest-infested holes or used to soak cotton swabs, which are then placed inside the tunnels. After treatment, seal the holes with a layer of clay or sealing compound to prevent re-infestation. It’s important to monitor the plants regularly and take action as soon as signs of infestation appear. Early intervention can significantly reduce damage and improve the overall health of the plants. Always follow safety guidelines when handling pesticides to protect both the environment and yourself.
