Since 1998, Li Wu has promoted this achievement with his graduate students throughout Heilongjiang Province. To date, it has succeeded in breeding more than 2,000 Australian species such as Deksel from Australia and Ossali from Canada to a company in Mudanjiang City; at the same time, hundreds of embryos have been transplanted in some cities and counties including Daqing and Harbin, and frozen embryos have been frozen. The success rate of transplantation is 54%, and the success rate of fresh embryos is even higher. Prof. Li Wu told reporters that each high-quality mutton in foreign countries can produce 90 kilos of meat, while domestic mutton sheep generally can only produce 30 jins of meat. If the “dolls” that are bred are used as breeding sheep, the economic benefits generated will not be underestimated. He said that the cost of breeding a kind of sheep using embryo technology is about 3,000 yuan, while the market price is over 6,000 yuan.
