There are "eight defenses" in fertilizer storage

Anti-moisture ammonium bicarbonate is prone to moisture absorption, resulting in loss of nitrogen volatilization; ammonium nitrate is highly hygroscopic and easy to agglomerate, deliquescence; lime nitrogen and calcium superphosphate are easy to agglomerate after moisture absorption, affecting the application effect. Therefore, these fertilizers should be stored in a dry, cool place, especially when ammonium bicarbonate is stored. The package should be tightly sealed and kept out of contact with air. Anti-volatile ammonia and ammonium bicarbonate are very volatile and should be sealed during storage. Nitrogen fertilizer and superphosphate are strictly prohibited to be mixed with alkaline substances (lime, grass ash, etc.) in order to prevent the loss of nitrogen fertilizer and reduce the fertilizer efficiency of phosphate fertilizer. The higher the temperature of protection against heat is, the more volatile the decomposition and agglomeration of the chemical fertilizer (the worse the stability), the temperature of the storage house should be kept below 30°C, and it is best not to put it in a kitchen with a heat source in rural areas. Fire-resistant ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, etc. are flammable and must not be stored together with flammable materials such as kerosene, gasoline, straw, wood chips, etc. to avoid fire. Anti-explosion ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, etc. are liable to explode. If mixed with metal powders such as copper and iron, they will cause an explosion accident if they are rubbed. Therefore, after the hardening of these fertilizers, do not use metal objects and smash them with heavy objects. Anti-corrosion calcium superphosphate is corrosive and should be prevented from coming in contact with skin and metal utensils. Ammonia water is strongly corrosive to copper and iron and should be stored in ceramic, plastic, and wooden containers. In addition, chemical fertilizers should not be piled up with seeds, and do not use chemical fertilizers in bags to avoid affecting seed germination. Anti-fertilization chemical fertilizers are acidic and alkaline and should be classified and placed according to place of production, type, and nature in order to avoid reducing fertilizer efficiency. Anti-misuse of fertilizer can not be mixed with pesticides, human and animal drugs, food items (such as sugar, salt), so as to avoid misuse. Especially to prevent children from eating.
