Rice field cultivation of shrimp in winter

Rice-field shrimp farming in winter is a mode of winter farming after winter rice harvest. The main points of breeding techniques are described below:

First, timely stocking. After the shrimps are harvested, some paddy fields with deeper, better conditions in the ditch are selected, excreted excess silt in the ditch, repaired and improved, and fresh river water is injected. For example, if rape or wheat is to be planted in paddy fields, the water level in the shrimp can be maintained at 1.2 meters; if no rape or wheat is grown, the entire paddy field can be used to culture the shrimp. Each prawn gully can be stocked with 20,000 to 25,000 tails, with specifications of 2 cm to 4 cm. Restocking time is good in mid-December.

Second, cast enough food. Green shrimp can ingest growth throughout the winter. On feeding, it is necessary to “grab two ends and bring the middle”. That is to say, 15 days to 20 days after stocking of shrimps should be seized, and the amount of bait should be 5% of the body weight of the shrimps; January-February should be fed in the sunny and warm weather at noon. Some foods are available; in March, the feeding intensity of the shrimp gradually increases, and the daily feeding amount is 3% to 5%; in April it increases to 6%; in May it is the stage of spawning and the growth of the shrimp. In the fastest season, the daily feeding amount can be increased to 8%, feeding 3 times to 4 times a day. Strive to make the shrimp reach 5 cm or more in the end of May.

Third, strengthen management. While doing a good job of feeding, we must also do a good job in feeding and management. In the cold weather from January to February, it is necessary to intensify field inspections. If ice is found on the surface, it is necessary to promptly break the ice and increase oxygen, and prevent the shrimp from suffocating due to ice on the water surface. From March to May, it is necessary to strengthen water quality management and determine the number of water changes and the amount of water to be replaced according to the concentration of water. When water is injected, it should be selected at about 11 o'clock in the morning when the weather is warm and sunny. When the water temperature of the river is close to the water temperature of the shrimp ditch, the temperature difference should be kept too high, and the water level of the shrimp ditch should be kept stable.

Fourth, timely harvest. Usually shrimps are collected in the dry ponds in late May. At this time, most of the females with a size of more than 5 cm have already had their eggs. They can capture and retain part of their parents for breeding shrimps. The rest can be sold.
