Analysis of the Causes of No Egg Production Peak in Laying Hens

In production, some chickens do not have high peaks for egg production and do not even have peak production. What are the reasons for this? Based on past experience, the author has analyzed the following points: (I) Effects of feeds (1) Energy and protein in full-price feeds cannot meet the production needs of laying hens at the peak of egg production. (2) The raw material protein is of poor quality. The peak diet uses too many raw materials with low protein utilization, such as rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal, etc., and the protein digestion rate is 75% and 72%, respectively, and the palatability is poor and contains poisons. In addition, the use of moldy raw materials will also lead to the peak of egg production. (3) Unbalanced or insufficient nutrition. Insufficient methionine and cystine in the feed during the peak period of laying hens, according to the general formula, usually the egg + cystine addition amount is 0.53% ~ 0.61% to meet, arginine, lysine should also be considered; mineral salt ratio Improper or insufficient, especially the imbalance of calcium and phosphorus, the normal ratio is 5 to 6:1. During the peak period, manganese, which is a trace element in feed, should not be neglected, and 100 to 120 mg should be added per kilogram of feed. Inadequacy of vitamins may affect production. The peak period of egg production for laying hens needs vitamins A1, D3, and E. (B) Poor quality of broiler chickens (1) The body weight does not meet the standard. Mainly in the breeding period, due to poor feeding and management, often stop feeding, stop water, poor feed quality. (2) Some body weight exceeded. The main reason is that the feeding method is not scientific. (3) The size of the flock is different. Different batches of chickens are fed together and the egg production time is not concentrated. (C) the impact of light during the peak season of light production should be stable at 16 to 17 hours (including sunshine). The duration of light hours is short, and frequent blackouts, irregular opening and closing times, etc. all affect the formation of egg production peaks. (D) the impact of stress on the feeding time; often change the feed formula or variety; stop feeding water, resulting in falling eggs, broken eggs increased; the impact of high temperature or low temperature. (E) Impact of the epidemic Before the peak, chickens are most susceptible to chicken fleas, respiratory diseases, egg drop syndrome, and fatty liver syndrome. China Agricultural Network Editor
