There are three bogey for pods

1. Avoid feeding raw soybean meal contains some undesirable substances, such as antitrypsin, substances that produce goitre, saponin and hemagglutinin. The presence of antitrypsin reduces the ability of the small intestine to digest and absorb proteins, and can easily cause diarrhea, while calf performance is even more pronounced. Feeding large amounts of raw soybean meal for a long period of time can also lead to pathological changes and goitre enlargement of the bovine pancreas, causing the metabolism of the cattle to be disordered. The above-mentioned undesirable substances will lose their effect after a suitable heat treatment such as heating to 110°C for 3 minutes. However, the heat treatment should be appropriate, and the overheating will denature the soybean protein and reduce its nutritional value.

2. Avoid too large or too small particle size will make it produce a large amount of ammonia in the rumen of cattle, resulting in the loss of protein, in serious cases will lead to ammonia poisoning of cattle; too large size will make it incomplete digestion, This reduces the feeding value. Soybean meal is generally processed into particles with a diameter of 0.9-2.5 mm (8- to 20-mesh).

3. Avoid mixing with urea The raw soybean meal contains urease, which can decompose urea to produce ammonia gas and carbon dioxide. Therefore, raw soybean meal cannot be mixed with urea.
