Why is nitrate nitrogen fertilizer not suitable for application in rice fields?

All nitrates containing nitrate belong to the category of nitrate nitrogen fertilizers such as sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate and ammonium nitrate.

The characteristics of nitrate nitrogen fertilizer are:

(1) Easily soluble in water Nitrate-soluble nitrogen fertilizer is easily soluble in water and produces nitrate anions and corresponding cations. It is a fast-acting nitrogen fertilizer. All kinds of nitrate nitrogen fertilizers have large solubility, strong hygroscopicity, and can be converted into liquids after absorbing moisture in the rainy season, which causes inconvenience for application.

(2) It cannot be adsorbed by soil particles. Because nitrate is an anion with negative charge, it cannot be adsorbed by negatively charged soil particles. Therefore, nitrate nitrogen fertilizer can only exist in soil solution after it is applied to the soil, and it will follow the soil. Moisture moves and moves. In the irrigation of farmland, or under the conditions of rainfall, it is easy to be washed into the deep layer of the soil; conversely, when the climate is dry and the soil evaporation is large, it can move up with the soil capillary water and even accumulate on the soil surface.

(3) Loss of easy denitrification Under the condition of soil flooding or odious gas, nitrate ions are denitrified due to denitrification, resulting in nitrogen oxide gas or nitrogen which cannot be used by various crops. Denitrification often occurs in paddy fields.

(4) Inflammable and explosive nitrate nitrogen can decompose to generate oxygen when heated, so there is a danger of inflammability and explosion in a limited space. Care should be taken during storage.

Nitrate-nitrogen fertilizers are generally ideal for applying fertilizers in dry conditions and have a good yield increase effect. However, the effect of nitrate nitrogen in rice fields is not as good as ammonium nitrogen fertilizer. The main reason for this is the large mobility of nitrate nitrogen. Nitrogen easily enters the reducing layer of rice fields with water. In the reducing layer, due to denitrification, the nitrate nitrogen is reduced to nitrogen or nitric oxide atmosphere and the volatile water is destroyed. . It should be pointed out that when applying ammonium nitrogen fertilizer in paddy fields, it must be applied to the reducing layer in order to have a good effect.

Chinese Herbal Medicine (English name: Chinese herbal medicine): Chinese medicine is mainly composed of botanical medicine (root, stem, leaf, fruit), animal medicine (viscera, skin, bone, organs, etc.) and mineral medicine. Because botanical medicine accounts for the majority of Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine is also called Chinese herbal medicine.

There are about 5,000 kinds of Chinese medicines used in various parts of China, and there are countless prescriptions made by combining various medicinal materials. After thousands of years of research, an independent science, Materia Medica, has been formed. Various medical schools in China have set up the course of natural medicine, which is called the Chinese herbal medicine.

The concept of plant extracts can be accepted and recognized by various countries, and it is also a common expression used to spread herbal medicines in various countries. The export value of plant extracts in China exceeded the export value of Chinese patent medicines as early as 1999. In European and American countries, plant extracts and their products (plant medicines or food supplements) have a broad market prospect, and have developed into an emerging industry with annual sales of nearly 8 billion US dollars.

The plant extracts in China are generally intermediate products, which are widely used, mainly used as raw materials or auxiliary materials for medicines, health foods, tobacco, cosmetics, etc. There are also many kinds of raw material plants used for extraction, and there are more than 300 plant varieties that are extracted industrially.
