However, this method is physically demanding and time-consuming, making it difficult to keep up with the pace of modern agriculture. Alternatively, 0.5 kg of a herbicide containing Euphorbia species can be mixed with 75 liters of water. The spray should be fine and thorough. If the weather is dry, more water may be needed. It’s essential to monitor wind direction to prevent drift that could harm neighboring crops. After application, avoid walking on the treated area to protect the mulch layer and ensure effective weed control.
Once the seedlings emerge, manual thinning is carried out, and two ridges are formed between the furrows to minimize foot traffic. If weeds are large and well-established, 100 grams of dichlobenil can be mixed with 50 liters of water and sprayed on the weeds during the 6-leaf stage of the corn. Alternatively, 100 ml of 40% clethodim emulsion can be mixed with 30 liters of water and applied directly to the leaves and stems of the weeds. This helps manage weeds effectively without damaging the corn plants.
