100-day slaughter rabbit breeding method

Rex rabbits are typically raised from birth to slaughter, which usually takes more than 150 days. However, breeding is often halted during the hot summer months because the quality of the fur does not meet grading standards, making it unsuitable for sale. This issue has been a major concern for farmers. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the price of rabbit pelts has continuously declined, primarily due to poor fur quality that fails to meet acquisition criteria. As a result, losses have increased significantly. Studies indicate that nutritional deficiencies in Rex rabbits are a key factor contributing to this problem. Recently, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and animal nutrition specialists at Beijing Science and Technology Deep Blue Science and Technology Co., Ltd. developed a third-generation biotechnology product and specialized feed supplement designed specifically for Rex rabbits. These products do not contain any antibiotics, and only 1% of the supplement is added per 50 kg of feed. This helps maintain optimal digestive health, improves nutrient absorption, and balances the diet, thereby shortening the growth cycle. The fur becomes thick and even, meeting first or second-grade skin standards. In addition, breeders can simplify their procedures by using just three injections—long-acting Veracore, anti-recoil, and pasteurized vaccines—throughout the entire breeding period. These injections effectively eliminate both internal and external parasites, as well as coccidia, without the need for additional anticoccidial drugs. Under the premise of selecting high-quality breeds and maintaining good breeding practices, attention should also be given to several key aspects in each stage: **Mother and Child Separation** After giving birth, female rabbits should be separated from their young during the lactation period to ensure a stable environment for both. This allows the mother to produce more milk while promoting healthy growth in the offspring. **Feeding Treasure** From day 16 to 18, young rabbits begin to eat solid food. At this stage, their digestive systems are still developing, making them prone to diarrhea. Feeding treasure helps regulate digestion, protect the intestinal lining, and improve overall immunity, setting a strong foundation for their development. **Weaning Injections** On day 35, rabbits receive an injection of long-acting inosine (0.1 ml per dose), and on day 45, they are given two doses of pasteurized vaccines. This approach eliminates the need for anticoccidial drugs throughout the growing process. **Free Access to Food and Water** To support rapid growth after weaning, young rabbits are provided with a specially formulated diet that allows them to eat and drink freely, improving efficiency compared to traditional methods. **Low Light Fattening** When rabbits reach 1.75 kg, they are placed individually in cages under low-light conditions. This mimics their natural nocturnal behavior, encouraging frequent feeding and promoting faster growth. By 100 days old, they can weigh between 2.5 kg and 3 kg. **High Survival Rate and Efficiency** Practical breeding experiences show that the "three-needle and two-hundred-day" method reduces input costs, saves time, and simplifies the process. It leads to higher survival rates, lower disease incidence, and superior fur quality, significantly improving the overall efficiency of Rex rabbit farming.
