100-day slaughter rabbit breeding method

Rex rabbits are typically raised from birth to slaughter, which usually takes more than 150 days. However, breeding is often halted during the hot summer months because the quality of the fur in that season does not meet grading standards, making it unsuitable for sale. This issue has been a major concern for farmers. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the price of rabbit pelts has continued to drop. The primary cause is that the fur quality fails to meet purchasing criteria, leading to significant losses. Research indicates that nutritional deficiencies in Rex rabbits are one of the main reasons behind this problem. Recently, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and nutrition specialists from Beijing Science and Technology Deep Blue Science and Technology Co., Ltd. have developed a third-generation biotechnology product designed specifically for Rex rabbits. These products serve as a feeding supplement without using any antibiotics. By adding just 1% of the supplement per 50 kilograms of feed, the digestive system of the rabbits remains in optimal condition, allowing them to fully absorb and balance nutrients. This helps shorten their growth cycle, improves fur quality, and ensures the pelts meet first or second-grade standards. Additionally, breeders can simplify their procedures by using only three injections—long-acting Veracore, anti-recoil agent, and pasteurized vaccines—to control internal and external parasites, as well as coccidia, throughout the entire rearing period. No additional anticoccidial drugs are needed in the diet. When selecting high-quality breeds and maintaining proper hygiene, along with careful management of mating and pregnant females, attention should also be given to several key steps: **Mother and Child Separation** After giving birth, female rabbits are separated from their young during lactation to ensure a stable environment for both. This promotes better growth for the kits and helps the mother maintain good milk production. **Feeding Treasure** From day 16 to 18, rabbits begin to eat solid food. At this stage, their digestive systems are still developing, so they are prone to diarrhea. Feeding treasure helps fill this gap by regulating the digestive tract, protecting the intestinal lining, and improving overall immunity. **Weaning Injections** On day 35, each rabbit receives a long-acting inosine injection (0.1 ml). At 45 days old, two injections of pasteurized vaccines are given (0.1 ml each). After that, no anticoccidial drugs are required during the entire growing period. **Free Access to Feed and Water** To support rapid growth after weaning, young rabbits are provided with a specially formulated diet that allows free access to food and water, which is more effective than traditional methods. **Low-Light Fattening** Once the rabbits reach 1.75 kg, they are individually housed in cages under low-light conditions. This mimics their natural nocturnal behavior, encouraging frequent feeding and promoting faster growth. By day 100, they can weigh between 2.5 and 3 kg. **High Survival Rate and Efficiency** Practical breeding experience shows that using a three-injection and 100-day feeding method reduces costs, saves time, and simplifies procedures. It results in higher survival rates, lower disease incidence, and better pelt quality, significantly improving the efficiency of Rex rabbit farming.
