The Misunderstanding of Jujube Management

Myth:
First, many people believe that only winter pruning is necessary for jujube trees, but they often neglect summer pruning. In reality, summer pruning plays a crucial role in managing tree vigor, improving air circulation and light penetration within the canopy, and helping to concentrate nutrients. This ultimately enhances fruit quality in the following season. As the saying goes, "Winter cuts long branches, summer prunes strong ones." The main techniques of summer pruning include removing suckers, pinching the tips, spreading branches, thinning dense branches, and shortening upper branches. Unfortunately, some young farmers ignore summer pruning or do it too late, leading to excessive fruit drop and negatively affecting the current year's yield.

Second, some jujube farmers focus only on ground-level management while neglecting the underground aspects. They may not fertilize properly or water the trees adequately for years. Even if the above-ground parts are well-managed, the lack of nutrients below the surface can weaken the trees, reduce fruit production, and lower fruit quality.

Third, many farmers rely heavily on chemical fertilizers without considering organic options. Long-term use of chemical fertilizers can lead to soil compaction, increased pH levels, reduced sugar content in fruits, and a loss of natural flavor. On the other hand, applying organic fertilizer helps stimulate microbial activity in the soil, improves its structure, increases nutrient absorption, and lays the foundation for producing high-quality, pesticide-free fruits.

Fourth, some farmers pay attention to pre-harvest care but neglect post-harvest management. Before harvest, they usually manage their trees carefully, but after harvesting, most abandon the garden entirely. This is not advisable because the tree uses a lot of energy during fruiting, leaving it weak. At this stage, it's essential to replenish nutrients to prepare for better yields in the next season.

Fifth, some farmers focus only on insect control and ignore disease prevention. They believe that spraying the tree just needs to target pests, which is a misunderstanding. Diseases like date rust and fruit shrivel can be just as damaging as pests, so proper disease management is equally important. A comprehensive approach that includes both pest and disease control is essential for healthy jujube trees.

Standardized Extract

Traditional Chinese medicine standard extract refers to a kind of traditional Chinese medicine product with relatively clear pharmacodynamic material basis and strict quality standard obtained by extracting and processing traditional Chinese medicine with modern science and technology, and can be used as the raw material of traditional Chinese medicine preparation.

The chemical components of the standard extracts of traditional Chinese medicine are a collection of various pharmacological active substances in a specific proportion. It inherits the characteristics of multiple components of traditional Chinese medicine and reflects the specific functions of the original Chinese medicine. No matter as a single medicine or as a compound medicine, it can completely replace the original raw medicine and has incomparable advantages in quality control.
