Compared with developed countries, the medical device industry in China has a weak foundation, the industrial chain is incomplete, and the overall competitiveness is weak. There is a certain gap between the comprehensive performance and reliability of basic products, and some core and key technologies have not yet been mastered.

Create 50 to 80 new emergency prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and emergency medical device products that are in urgent need of clinical application. Focus on supporting 10 to 15 large medical device enterprise groups, establishing 8 to 10 medical device technology industrial bases and 10 national innovative medical device product demonstration and application bases. Build 10 national engineering technology research centers and national key laboratories to improve China's medical device standards, testing and evaluation system.
