British research shows that high IQs have high sperm quality

A recent British study has revealed that men with higher IQs tend to have better quality sperm. The research, conducted by a team of scientists, analyzed data from U.S. veterans who served in the Vietnam War. The findings suggest that those who scored higher on intelligence tests also had more active and healthier sperm. Published in *The Wisdom* magazine, the study supports an earlier hypothesis: genes responsible for human intelligence may also influence other biological traits, such as reproductive health. This implies that even small genetic changes affecting intelligence could negatively impact other areas, like sperm quality. In other words, individuals with well-functioning genes are more likely to possess a "biological advantage," leading to better health, sharper minds, and overall stronger physical traits. While previous studies often focused on lifestyle factors—like smoking or exercise habits—as key links between intelligence and health, this new research suggests there may be a deeper genetic connection. For instance, people with higher IQs might naturally lead healthier lives, but the study indicates that biology itself plays a significant role. The research involved 425 men who took several intelligence tests and provided semen samples. Scientists found that those with higher IQs consistently showed better results in three key sperm quality indicators: quantity, concentration, and motility—regardless of age or lifestyle factors. This study adds a new layer to our understanding of how intelligence and biology are intertwined, offering fresh insights into the complex relationship between genetics and human health.
