Method for starting a fermentation bed

One of the most important concerns for users is how to quickly and effectively start a pig fermentation bed. The functional bacteria in the Jinbao pig fermentation bedding auxiliary materials work best at normal startup temperatures between 10°C and 15°C. Some customers ask whether they need to add active agents, which depends on the activity level of the microorganisms. Newly produced fermentation bed strains usually have high microbial activity and may not require additional agents. However, after some time of use, bacterial effectiveness may decrease slightly, so it's advisable to add a small amount of active agent if needed. Regardless of whether you use an active agent or not, there are several key steps to follow when starting the Jinbao fermentation bed: 1) Start with pig manure and urine. This method is also known as "starting with the occasion." Once the fermentation bedding material is ready, select a specific area where pigs often urinate (usually a few square meters), remove the existing bedding, and let the pigs go there. After 20–30 minutes, when the pigs defecate, collect the fresh, hot urine and mix it with the golden baby fermentation aid. Then, stir the mixture thoroughly and cover it with sawdust bedding. Fresh pig excrement has a higher body temperature, usually above 30°C, which helps the functional microbes begin the fermentation process quickly. This method is fast and effective, typically leading to noticeable fermentation within two to three days. When the temperature rises above 40°C, move the material to the edges and spread it evenly to promote fermentation across the entire bed. This way, the whole pigsty can be started in a short time. 2) Pre-wet with warm water. After laying the bedding, spray the litter with warm water around 30–40°C. It’s best to heat the water directly to that temperature instead of boiling and cooling it down again. You can also mix the Golden Bacteria Fermentation Aid into the litter to speed up the process. 3) Preheat the indoor environment. Before laying the bedding, use fire, air conditioning, or steam to warm the room to 15–25°C. Then proceed with the bedding, spreading the fermentation bacteria as needed.
