Winter crops applied carbon ammonium better than urea

According to the results of the agricultural sector, the effect of applying urea on winter crops is not as effective as that of ammonium bicarbonate (abbreviated as ammonium bicarbonate), and the growth rate of crops after applying ammonium bicarbonate is fast, and the growth rate of urea is slow. The main reasons are the following two aspects. First, the fertilizer effect of urea is slower than that of ammonium bicarbonate. After urea is applied to the soil, the winter crops cannot be directly absorbed and must pass through urease action in the soil before they can be absorbed and utilized by the crop after hydrolysis. In winter, the temperature is low and the conversion process takes 10 to 12 days. The application of carbon ammonium can be directly absorbed without the need of this conversion process. Therefore, regardless of whether it is used as a base fertilizer or top dressing, the fertilizer effect of urea is much slower than that of ammonium bicarbonate, which is not conducive to the early growth of strong seedlings of winter crops. Second, urea loss is greater than ammonium bicarbonate. Ammonium carbonate is generally stable at temperatures below 15°C and has low volatilization losses. After application to winter crops, ammonium ions and ammonium bicarbonate ions are dissociated. Because the ammonium ion is positively charged, it can be directly adsorbed by soil colloids (negatively charged) and then slowly released. It is absorbed and utilized by crops in time, and thus the volatile loss of fertilizers is not significant. When urea is applied to winter crops, urea is dissolved in the soil in a molecular state and cannot be adsorbed by soil colloids. This can easily result in loss of fertilizer.
