The types of fats and oils include animal oils and vegetable oils. Animal oils such as lard, tallow, fish oil, etc., have a metabolizable energy value of 33.50 MJ/kg or more. Vegetable oils such as rapeseed oil, cottonseed oil, corn oil and other low metabolizable energy are also at 29.3MJ/kg. Due to the high viscosity of the oil, it is difficult to mix well if it is not properly added. 1 Do not use deteriorating oils, and pay attention to the supplement of nutrients in the diet. After the oil is added, due to the increase of the energy level in the diet, other nutrients in the feed must be adjusted accordingly, especially to keep the protein energy ratio unchanged.
2 Feed storage time should not be too long. Because the oil contains more unsaturated fatty acids, storage time is too long or stored under high temperature conditions easily oxidized and rancid. The shorter the storage time, the better. In general, the fat-containing feed should not be stored for more than 7 days in summer and not more than 3 weeks in winter.
3 Antioxidants should be added to the feed. Since the oiled feed has the characteristic of being easily oxidized, it is indispensable to add an antioxidant.
