Small volume high density cages to raise grass carp

Materials and Methods This experiment was conducted using three cages with a volume of 4 cubic meters each in the Minqing Reservoir in Fujian Province. The experimental cages were made according to the guidelines of the American Association of Soybean Association Small Volume High Density cages, including shading covers and projections. Feeding frame. Each test cage is at least 4 meters apart to ensure good water exchange.
The test fingerlings were purchased from other fisheries. The stocking density of grass carp is 175/m3, and the planned market size is 750 g. The feed for grass carp is a 32/3 puffed extruded feed for grass carp that is provided by the American Soybean Association. Test fish were fed twice a day and satiation was used. The three test cages had the same daily feed.
The management of the trials was conducted in accordance with the American Society for Soybeans Small-scale, High-density Cage Aquaculture Technology Guide. All the test cages were sampled once a month on the same day to determine the growth rate of the test fish. At the end of the test, the fish in all test cages were arrested and the average weight, hair yield, net yield, feed coefficient, and survival rate of the test fish in each cage were calculated. All production costs are recorded during the test so that net income and return on investment can be calculated after the trial ends.
Results The trial of small cage culture grass carp began from June 28, 2002 to October 29, a total of 124 days. On the 19th day after stocking, the grass carp grew from 59 g to 91 g and the average feed coefficient was 1.08. However, the appetite of grass carp decreased significantly due to a sharp increase in water temperature (above 31°C). Because of the poor feeding of grass carp, the test was terminated after 124 days, when the average weight of grass carp was only 155 grams.
Summary and Conclusion Since this test was terminated midway, the test failed to make a correct assessment of the growth performance of grass carp in a small cage. The continued high temperature from the second month of the trials severely affected the normal feeding of grass carp, and therefore the growth of grass carp was extremely slow. In this case, it is necessary to continue the trial of grass carp in a small cage. However, the water temperature in aquaculture waters needs to be relatively stable.

Our Veterinary Medicine products are mainly used for animal reproduction, such as PSG, HCG, etc. There are three procution lines in production, producing ten kinds of products. We got the first GMP certificate for vet medicine issued by Ministry of Agriculture, P.R China in 2005, and passed the GMP re-inspection in 2011 and 2016.
