Feeding chickens in summer to reduce heat stress

Relieving heat stress is the key to raising chickens in summer. In production, in addition to taking measures to prevent heatstroke, and to strengthen feeding and management, the proper use of some feed additives that can reduce heat stress is also very necessary.

1. Vitamin Vitamin C is the most reported anti-heat stress additive at home and abroad. It can reduce the death caused by heat stress and increase the egg production rate. Vitamin E protects the cell membrane from oxidation and improves immunity. The effect has certain effects on the prevention of heat stress; B vitamins also have a role in relieving heat stress, increasing growth rate, increasing egg weight and egg production. It has been reported that adding 100 to 150 mg/kg of vitamin C in feeds at high temperatures can significantly increase egg shell thickness, reduce shelled eggs and shell eggs, improve eggshell color, and reduce bacterial infections; add 100 ~300 mg/kg vitamin E, has anti-stress, anti-oxidation, and promote peripheral blood circulation, thereby reducing the chicken's stress sensitivity.

2. Bacitracin Bacillus zinc peptide is a heat stress reliever with good application effect. According to experiments, in the high temperature environment of 34°C, 100 mg/kg Bacitracin zinc was added to the hen's diet, the egg production increased by 5.4%, and the feed utilization rate increased by 5.8%.

3. Sodium bicarbonate is sodium bicarbonate, which has a stomach and regulates blood acid-base balance. Adding 0.3% to 1% to the diet, or adding 0.1% to 0.2% of baking soda to drinking water, can significantly reduce heat stress in the chicken body.

4. Fumaric Acid fumaric acid has a sedative effect. Adding 0.1% fumaric acid to the feed can significantly relieve heat stress and increase appetite and promote weight gain.

5. Chloride heat stress during chicken body heat increase, blood pH increased, prone to respiratory alkalosis; in the diet or drinking water by adding appropriate amount of ammonium chloride, can reduce blood pH, relieve heat stress . According to reports, adding 0.2%~0.3% ammonium chloride in drinking water can increase the weight gain by 10%~23%

6. watermelon rind The watermelon rind is chopped and each day the chicken is fed about 50 grams, fed three times, fed separately at noon, and fed into the feed sooner or later to increase the heat resistance of the chicken.

In addition, dietary aspirin, selenium, germanium, iodine, etc. can also reduce chicken heat stress.
