Sow at a rate of 200–300 grams per mu, adjusting based on fertility and timing. When plants have five leaves, transplant them. Remove any uneven or weak seedlings for use as feed. Transplanting should begin in early October and continue until mid-November. Fifth, maintain proper planting density. At the third-leaf stage, remove weak or overcrowded seedlings. At the fifth-leaf stage, perform thinning. Adjust density based on land quality—8,000–10,000 plants per mu (12–15 per square meter) for fertile land, 10,000–12,000 plants for poorer or later-planted fields (15–18 per square meter), and up to 15,000–20,000 plants for special plots (22–28 per square meter). Generally, aim for 6,000–8,000 plants per mu (10–12 per square meter), adjusting for early or late planting. Sixth, implement chemical weeding. Apply herbicides 5–7 days before site preparation, targeting broad-leaved weeds in sunny afternoons, and apply within 24 hours. Once seedlings reach the three-leaf stage, spray herbicides to control emerging weeds. Seventh, monitor and manage pests. During the seedling stage, focus on controlling cabbage caterpillars and aphids. Follow pest forecasts and act promptly. During flowering, apply 40% sclerotinia fungicide in early flowering, spraying from the bottom up to ensure coverage. Monitor conditions and reapply as needed. Eighth, harvest and sell timely. Begin harvesting when over 80% of the plants show pod color, but before the upper pods fully yellow. After stacking or spreading for 5–7 days, thresh and dry the seeds promptly. Encourage mechanical harvesting, and delay the final harvest by 5–7 days for one-time collection. Stay informed about market trends to avoid long-term storage, which can damage quality and affect sales timing.
