Precautions for peony management

Peony is a deep-rooted flowering shrub, which is relatively hi-fat. Fertilizer is applied at least three times a year.

The first time the flower was used before the flower was made, and it was carried out in early March. This fertilization has greatly promoted the flowering of peony in the year, which is to promote flower fat. The second time was post-flowering, and it took place within half a month after flowering. This fertilization can promote flower bud differentiation and increase flowering quantity, and has a decisive influence on the number and quality of flowering in the second year. The third time for wintering fertilizers, combined with winter watering before the winter is generally carried out. Fertilizers from this application can increase the temperature of the soil and have a protective effect on wintering of peony. After flowering, the post-harvest fertilizer can be applied to a fully cooked cake or dried manure; over-wintering fertilizer can be applied to the accumulation of organic manure. Performing extra-root fertilizer before flowering also has good results.

Peony is a fleshy root, slightly tolerant to drought, and most afraid of long-term accumulation of water. After each fertilization, it is necessary to water in a timely manner. Watering should be carried out in a timely and appropriate manner according to weather and soil conditions. When the weather is dry, it takes 1 or 2 times a day. Encountered rainy days, water must be ruled out at any time. In short, the soil is always kept moist, which is most beneficial to the growth of peony. Combined with fertilization, watering, but also often loose soil, weeding. This will allow the soil to be well ventilated and not compacted, preventing weeds and peony from competing for nutrients.

The common diseases of peony are brown spot and root rot. The yellowish-green spots appeared on the leaf surface at the time of brown spot disease, and then gradually expanded to form brown and dark brown spots. The Bordeaux mixture can be sprayed once a month or 500 times with Zinc. Severely sick leaves must be cut and burned. Root rot damages the roots of peony and causes the roots to become black and rot, affecting the normal growth of peony. In severe cases can cause the whole plant to die. When planting peony, the root should be cut and burned, and some sulphur powder should be sprinkled in the planting hole.

Peony can be sprayed with 500-fold fluoroacetyl Xi'an when it is blown. Or apply branches with lime sulfur before the winter and early spring leaves. Manual scraping is also available.
